With over 200 vehicles spread across Ireland and the UK, EPS struggled to manage their fleet in a cost and time-efficient way while ensuring compliance with vehicle roadworthiness. They needed a reliable, constantly evolving system that would allow them to not only track their vehicles, but also provide everything from extensive fuel data to enhanced driver safety reports, and even enable management of fleet maintenance.
“Prior to using Transpoco, we were with another company for a number of years. We moved because of a combination of issues with the trackers and the support just wasn’t there. The trackers weren’t very reliable. We were constantly chasing up trackers that weren’t working”
- Jennifer Jones, IT Support Specialist at EPS.
After searching for fleet management companies online to replace their supplier at the time, EPS came across Transpoco. Combining location and fuel transaction data with driving style, maintenance and management data, our fleet management software provides a comprehensive view of overall performance. Not only does it provide visibility of which vehicles are most efficient and which are not, but this data can be accessed in the form of user-friendly reports to make quick and efficient decisions. EPS started using Transpoco’s software to manage their fleet in 2015, using our fleet management system with GPS tracking technology, as well as our fuel management software and fleet compliance solution.
“Transpoco seemed the best fit. It was the competitive pricing and the platform they were using that initially attracted us. The reporting and the display of the system itself looked the most user friendly.”
Having gained powerful insights into vehicle location, fuel consumption, driver behaviour and vehicle maintenance, EPS have been able to make quick and efficient decisions about their fleet so that they can drive their business forward.
Through GPS technology, EPS are able to create and customise reports that are useful to their needs, including tracking specific locations, areas, trips and activity areas. Not only this, but they can see where their vehicles are in real time, as well as create routes to optimise trip planning.
“Due to various issues, people stopped using the previous company. Because it [Transpoco’s software] is reliable, people are more liable to use it. I know I can tell a manager how to log in and run a report. Previously, I had to do it myself, as something would go wrong, but now that’s not the case. There is much more faith in the system.”
With the system’s fuel card integration, they are also able to verify fuel purchases in real time, eliminating fuel card misuse and fuel theft. As a result, EPS have saved money on fuel, giving them more resources to grow their business.
Aside from these benefits, EPS have also found it easier to conduct RSA audits. Prior to working with Transpoco, their drivers were filling in check sheets once a week. If any issues were identified, they often found them difficult to follow through to resolution due to the nature of their company, with offices in several locations across the UK and Ireland. Now their drivers are able to log their issue through our walkaround app, where supervisors can log in and follow the issue through to resolution.
But what has made the biggest difference to EPS is the support they have received throughout their partnership with Transpoco.
For any business struggling with similar fleet management challenges that she did previously, Jennifer at EPS encourages them to “make the switch”. “There is a system out there that works and will give you what you need. If you want the support and the follow up, that’s why you need to move over to Transpoco”.
“Compared to the previous company it is night and day. Knowing that if I have any issue or a question from a manager or a director, I can get an answer that day, has made a real difference. The previous company we used had grown too big and had lost that personal touch.”
If, like EPS, you’re looking for a system that will enable you to track your vehicles, manage fuel consumption and ensure compliance with vehicle roadworthiness standards, all while saving you time and money, we’d love to chat to you.
